Let the festivities begin! And what better way than with this Elegant Pomegranate sparkling drink?
This fantastically flavorful drink is just one of the many indulgences from Sima Cohen’s new cookbook Sima’s Healthy Indulgence: 100 Revamped, guilt-free recipes to transform your life.
Sima is a celebrity trainer, nutritionist, wellness expert and life coach with 20 years experience. Her new cookbook has 100 soul-and-stomach satisfying recipes which cover six meals a day (three main courses & three snacks), including nutritious drinks and desserts.
The bonus is that all recipes are designed with less than 10 ingredients to be ready in less than 30 minutes.
I recently listened to Sima speak passionately about her philosophy of having a better relationship with ones’ self and the food one eats. Her methodology involves daily celebration without deprivation, compromise or calorie counting. A good example is her endorsement of bread, chocolate, and wine—with the stipulation not to indulge them every day and to eliminate food guilt when you do.
In addition to her easy to follow recipes, this book includes tips on what to stock in your pantry, techniques to help you get in shape, how to combine your food and so much more.
Here are a few of the delicious recipes from her cookbook that I enjoyed at Melissa’s Produce.

Today’s Recipe: Elegant Pomegranate
This recipe couldn’t be simpler. Add ingredients and mix.
Pomegranate molasses and rose water can be found at most higher end grocery stores, middle-eastern stores, or online.
For my American palette, I chose to cut down the rose water. I would start with a few drops, taste and adjust to your preference. It tastes great without the rose water as well.
Elegant Pomegranate - Sima’s Healthy Indulgence Cookbook
Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons pomegranate molasses
- 16 ounces sparkling water
- 2 tablespoons pomegranate arils
- 5-10 ice cubes
- 1 teaspoon rose water
Instructions
-
Add all ingredients to a pitcher and mix until pomegranate molasses dissolves. Add the pomegranate arils and serve.

I was curious to see how this recipe would taste if I replaced the sparkling water with Champagne. It was decadently delicious, but just remember—celebration with moderation.
What is the healthy indulgence plan all about?
“Simply put, it’s about living with abundance, with appreciation, and with gratitude for all we have.” – Sima Cohen
That is my kind of living.
…and then, she paused for thought

This is just beautiful, Cathy, simple and fuss-free; understated elegance at its finest. And I vote for Champagne too! (In moderation, of course!)

Melissa’s produce made all of those dishes. They always do an awesome job of feeding us bloggers/media guests so we can get a nice sampling of each cookbook. Everything was delicious.

Looks beautiful, and sounds good with Champagne!
Good point about the rosewater. It seems that different brands vary in strength.
Cathy Arkle
I didn’t know different brands vary in strength, I just know that the brand I bought seemed strong to me, but that might just be my palette.
